A candidate for a doctoral degree in another area may earn a doctoral minor in Mass Communications in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Typically, the student will write a dissertation combining research in the major and minor fields. This minor is open to any doctoral students who seek to complement their main area of research with a thorough understanding of communication dynamics and how these dynamics affect society.
